Sergio Garcia, born 9 January 1980 is a Spanish professional golfer who plays on both the PGA Tour and the European Tour. García has won 32 international tournaments as a professional, most notably the 2008 Players Championship and the 2017 Masters Tournament. Garcia is also the Chairman of Spanish football team CF Borriol.
The multiple European Tour winner finished runner-up in Majors on four occasions before claiming his first at the 2017 Masters Tournament at Augusta National. His first Major victory was the highlight of an impressive year in which he claimed another two titles at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic and the Andalucia Valderrama Masters hosted by the Sergio Garcia Foundation. Has enjoyed a stellar Ryder Cup career, having played in the biennial clash eight times, winning a total of 22.5 points. Had a glittering amateur career, becoming the then youngest player to make a European Tour cut in 1995 aged just 16 and winning the Amateur Championship in 1998. Turned professional in 1999 after finishing low amateur at the Masters and won in his sixth pro start at the Irish Open. Has since won more than 30 titles worldwide.
García has spent much of his career in the top 10 of the Official World Golf Ranking, including over 300 weeks in the top 10 between 2000 and 2009, and over 400 weeks in the top 10 in total.
With 32 professional victories to his name, Sergio travels to Gold Coast Australia in November to play in the Australia PGA Championship in a star-studded field including Adam Scott, March Leishman and Harold Varner III (last years winner).
