European Tour winner Wade Ormsby took time out of his quick trip home to treat South Australian PGA Trainees to some lessons from one of the best golfing Tour’s in the world earlier this month.

""Back home to re-charge for a busy stretch on the European Tour, which began its lucrative Rolex Series at last week’s BMW PGA Championship, the South Australian native attended Royal Adelaide Golf Club for the Trainee Match.

PGA Trainee Connor Chant recorded a dominant win in the match shooting 7-under 65 to win by 12, he and fellow Trainees Josh Groom, David Farmer, Sam De Sira and Braeden Kelly then had the benefit of hearing firsthand what it takes to compete on the international stage.

Ormsby touched on all aspects of life at the top level of the game, touching on the importance of fitness and diet to both his game and well-being,  Wade runs five times a week, not only for fitness but to clear his head.

He also works out in the gym five times a week and mentioned how disciplined he needs to be to avoid poor food choices when on the road, an easy pitfall for many touring professionals.

Ormsby was adamant how important it is to stick to a process; with every shot, every round and every week.

His advice to the Trainees; formulate a process that works for you and stick with it. Be disciplined to trust your process.

When he won his first European Tour title after an incredible 263 attempts in Hong Kong late last year, he felt terrible going into the week and his TrackMan data showed he was down six yards in distance.

Practicing what he preaches, Ormsby didn’t give up, and found a way to keep himself in the hunt trusting his game and his process.

Ormsby will tee it up in the second Rolex Series Event of the year, the Italian Open on the European Tour this week.
