Brett Rankin and Rick Kulacz have broken the streak of wins set by South Australian players on the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series, sitting equal on top of the leaderboard at the Air Diffusion Agencies Pro-Am with rounds of 4-under 67.
Players were greeted with the first significant rainfall in several months at The Vines Golf Club of Reynella with weather clearing in time for opening tee shots.
Lightning fast greens and swirling winds made it a tough day out for most with only eight of 34 players shooting under par.
Consistent play from Rankin and Kulacz saw the pair sit two shots clear of Cody Sherratt in third place with a round of 2-under 69.
Five players including recent winner Antonio Murdaca, Campbell Rawson, Jason Chellew, Chris Duke and Will Heffernan finished in a tie for fourth place at 1-under the card.
The course was in magnificent condition and again lived up to its reputation as one of the finest in the Adelaide foothills.
The Air Diffusion Agencies Pro-Am concludes the South Australian swing of the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series with events now moving into the NSW/ACT region.
