Western Australia’s Brady Watt and Queensland’s Dane McArdle have won the Murray Downs Golf & Country Club Pro-Am with equal scores of 5-under 67.
Playing on amazing course conditions at Murray Downs Golf & Country Club, the 31 Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series Professionals put on a scoring clinic in weather perfect for golf.
Finding his form in recent events, McArdle was amazed by the course in his first appearance at the country New South Wales-based pro-am.
“It is my first time to Murray Downs and all I can say is wow,” McArdle said.
“I played fairly well in Vanuatu last week, but came here with no expectations and I am happy to walk away with a win.”
A regular on the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series schedule, Brady Watt thanked those involved in the coordination of the event and credited smart play for his first-place finish.
“Thank you to all the sponsors and staff here at Murray Downs for running a successful event,” Watt said.
“You have to play smart around here to score well and I managed to keep my ball in play today, along with holing some putts. The course was in stunning condition and I look forward to coming back in the future.”
Hayden Webb and South-Australian Professional Simon Pope tied for second place with rounds of 4-under 68, ahead of Adam Burdett and Michael Choi in fifth place at 3-under the card.
