The Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series is pleased to announce an exciting new event on the 2018 schedule to be played at the Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club.

""The limited 19-man field for the inaugural 2018 Mercedes-Benz Gold Coast Sanctuary Cove Professional Shootout will boast a prize purse of $40,000 and will be played on the Pines Course on Sunday 12 August.

Starting with the full field on the first tee, the professional that records the highest score on each hole will be eliminated one by one. The field will finally be reduced to two over the opening 17 holes with the last men battling it out on the 18th to be crowned the inaugural Mercedes-Benz Gold Coast Sanctuary Cove Shootout Champion.

This unique event will showcase some of our most accomplished PGA Professionals not only to the Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club Membership but also the wider Gold Coast golfing community.

Professionals confirmed for the event include Brad Kennedy who won on the Japan Golf Tour earlier this month, 2017 Isuzu Queensland Open Champion Michael Sim, 2016 UBS Hong Kong Open Winner Sam Brazel, 2018 Vic Open Champion Simon Hawkes and Victorian David Bransdon who qualified for the U.S. Open in June.

The exciting new format is set to attract an eager crowd of golf fans thanks to the stellar line-up of some of Australia’s best golfers and the cut-throat nature of the event.

Paul Sanders, Executive General Manager of Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club, said they are looking forward to hosting the inaugural event on the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series.

Having played the format many times before with their own members, he’s sure the addition of PGA Professionals will only add to the excitement.

“We’re very excited to be hosting the Mercedes-Benz Gold Coast Sanctuary Cove Shootout,” said Sanders.

“The shoot-out format for our members is arguably the most supported event annually at the Club and to present this format with the PGA Professionals is exciting for the members, residents and local community.”

“Mercedes-Benz Gold Coast are advocates for supporting great events on the Gold Coast and as the major sponsor and long term supporters of this Club it gives us great pleasure to have them involved.”

The Mercedes-Benz Gold Coast Sanctuary Cove Professional Shootout will get underway at 10am on Sunday 12August and is assured to be a day of spectacular golf and on course entertainment.
