Players had to endure four seasons in one day at the Blackwater Country Club for the final round of the Purcell’s Blackwater Ladbrokes Pro-Am.

Cool blustery conditions followed by lightning and rain made for testing conditions for players which was a complete contrast to that experienced in round one.

Brett Rankin claimed victory in the 2018 Purcell’s Engineering Blackwater Legends Pro-Am after a round of 2-under 70 for a tournament total of 6-under par the card.

Rankin’s round included 6 birdies and 4 bogeys in difficult conditions this afternoon.

“The weather just changed over the course of the afternoon,” said Rankin.

“It went from being slightly overcast to lighting and then constant drizzling rain, it was tough to maintain your composure out there.

“I’m really pleased to have finished here at Blackwater with a win. I really enjoy the course it can be tricky but you also have your opportunities to make birdies out there.”

The next best-placed professionals were the trio of Paul Hayden, Tom Power-Horan and Brad Burns who all finished 4-under the card.

Victorian professional Tom Power-Horan had the shot of the tournament after he holed a 7-iron from 140 metres on the 440m par-5, 2^nd hole for his first ever albatross.

The low rounds of the day were shot by Redland Bay Golf Club’s PGA Trainee Professional Gavin Fairfax who fired a fantastic score of 7–under 65 matched by Paul Hayden later in the final round.

Queenslander Brett Rankin holds the lead for the Onsite Rental Group Mining Towns Series on 6-under par holding a two-shot lead over Brad Burns, Tom Power-Horan and Paul Hayden who are placed on 4- under par.

The next stop on the Onsite Rentals Mining Towns Series will be the Emerald Golf Club where play begins at 7.00am Saturday morning for the Lunar Mining Emerald Golf Club Ladbrokes Pro-Am.
