All eyes will be on the Rockhampton Golf Club this week as the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series arrives in Central Queensland for the 2019 Ian Weigh Toyota Rockhampton Pro-Am with $75,000 in prizemoney on offer for professionals.

Daniel NisbetThe 2019 Ian Weigh Toyota Rockhampton Pro-Am has attracted one of the strongest fields ever seen at the event including Coca-Cola QLD PGA Championship winner and Queensland local Daniel Nisbet.

Nisbet headlines a line-up of top talent including Onsite Rental Group Mining Towns Series winner Tim Hart, Damien Jordan, Daniel Gale, Aaron Townsend, Darren Beck and three-time runner-up Matthew Millar who will look to go one better in 2019.

A number of former winners have returned aiming to recapture the trophy in 2019 including Gold Coast based professional Steven Jeffress (2015), Victorian professional Peter Wilson (2012) along with defending champion Jacob Boyce.

“I was thrilled to win the Ian Weigh Toyota Rockhampton Pro-Am last year and I am looking forward to defending my title here this week,” said Boyce.

“It was an awesome event last year and I’m excited to get out on the golf course again.

“The field is awesome, there’s a heap of talent out there so hopefully we can see some good scores over the four rounds.”

Ian Weigh Toyota and the Rockhampton Golf Club have increased prize money for the 2019 event, making it one of the richest and one of the few four-round tournaments on the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series schedule.

With a vision to continue to grow the event in both stature and prize money over the coming years Ian Weigh Toyota and the Rockhampton Golf Club hope to make it one of the largest regionally held events in Australia.

A field of 65 professionals will tee it up alongside the amateurs in the 22nd staging of the pro-am with a number of big names sure to attract much interest from the local golfing public within the wider Rockhampton Region.  

A full schedule of events planned for the week by the Rockhampton Golf Club make the event a fan favourite amongst locals, sponsors and PGA Professionals alike.

As tradition the Lexus Golf Day teed off yesterday marking the beginning of the event week, while the Rockhampton Golf Club Sponsors Day held today is an opportunity for companies supporting the event to enjoy a round of golf with the professionals before they get down to business when the tournament begins on Thursday.

Play will begin at Rockhampton Golf Club from 6.40am on Thursday 20 June. Marquee players are scheduled for a 10.40am start.

Entry to the Rockhampton Golf Club will be free for the public to catch some of the best golfers in the country compete for the AU$75,000 prize purse over four days of competition.
