""The Rockhampton Golf Club has a full schedule of events planned for the week, with the Lexus Golf Day teeing off Tuesday morning and Sponsors Day to be held Wednesday where those companies supporting the event will enjoy a round with the professionals before they get down to business in Thursday’s opening round.

Once again the Ian Weigh Toyota Rockhampton Pro-Am has attracted a strong field of professionals for the event including the likes of golfing legend and three-time Australian PGA Championship winner Peter Senior, Damien Jordan, Matthew Millar and Chris Wood.

Experienced professional Millar is a three-time runner up in this event and will be looking to go one better this year and take out this illustrious title.

Former winners competing this week are Gold Coast based professional Matthew Ballard (2010), and Victorian professional Peter Wilson (2012), who both return looking to capture this year’s trophy.

Senior’s return here this week for the pro-am is sure to attract much interest from the local golfing public from within the wider Rockhampton Region.

“It’s been a number of years since I played Rockhampton Golf Club,” said Senior.

“I’m certainly looking forward to seeing the golf course; hopefully we can see some good scores over the four rounds.”

The 2018 Ian Weigh Toyota will see 50 professionals tee it up alongside the amateurs beginning at Rockhampton Golf Club from 7:00am on Thursday. The marquee players are scheduled for an 11.30am start.

Entry to the Rockhampton Golf Club will be free for the public to catch some of the best golfers in the country compete for the AU$55,000 prize purse over four days of competition.
