The Ladbrokes PGA Pro-Am Series returns to Brisbane this week for two of the country’s richest one day Pro-Ams.

"DougThe $30,000 Optilease Redcliffe Pro-Am staged tomorrow will be the first Pro-Am at Redcliffe Golf Club since 2000 where Peter McWhinney was the victor on that occasion. Other winners over the history of the event include Ossie Moore, Peter Senior and Adam Crawford, and Redcliffe local Doug Klein who currently leads the OnPlatinum Rookie of the Year standings is excited about playing a tournament at his home course.

“We don’t often get to sleep in our own beds on tour let alone play our home course and therefore I am looking forward the seeing if I can use the local knowledge to my advantage” said Klein.

On Tuesday Victoria Park Golf Complex will play host to the Coca Cola City of Brisbane Pro-Am where they will be looking to maintain the high standards which saw them win the 2017 QLD PGA Metropolitan Tournament of the Year Award. It is the fifth consecutive year that the event has boasted $25,000 in prize purse and General Manager of Golf Operations Tim Porter is looking forward to hosting some of the up and coming stars of our game.

“We have been really fortunate to have a wonderful honour roll of winners over recent years with Michael Sim, Anthony Quayle, Damien Jordan and Brett Rankin and given the way we set the course up for the event, we are hoping for more low scoring this year” said Porter.

Both events will see some of the best fields assembled on the Ladbrokes PGA Pro-Am Series all year with the likes of Olympian Marcus Fraser, two time European Tour winner Andrew Dodt joining Matt Millar, Daniel Nisbet, Jason Norris and many others looking to take the lion’s share of the prizemoney on offer.

In the days following the Redcliffe and City of Brisbane Pro-Ams, the Howeston, Windaroo Lakes, Virginia and Bulimba Golf Clubs will host their respective Pro-Ams allowing the PGA Professionals to play for more than $100,000 in the Brisbane swing of events and showcasing professional golf in the river city once again.
