New South Welshman Andrew Campbell has stormed into contention in the Vanuatu Open thanks to a third round 7-under par 65 to put him at 13-under and one stroke clear of Peter Martin and DJ Loypur.

""The quietly spoken Sydneysider let his clubs do the talking firing seven birdies and an eagle around the Port Vila layout.

Renowned for his long hitting, Campbell targeted the short par 5 holes, playing near flawless golf and finishing 5-under par for the four.

Queenslander Peter Martin will be hot on the heels of Campbell and the only player in the field to shoot three rounds in the 60’s.

“I’ve played really good this week. The putts haven’t been dropping but it started to feel better on the back-9. I’m feeling good about my game,” explained Martin.

Three time Vanuatu Golf Open champion Brad McIntosh will play alongside Campbell, Loypur and Martin in the final round which will surely see experience take on youth and strength take on guile.

The final round is currently underway.

The Vanuatu Golf Open is sanctioned on the PGA Ladbrokes Pro-Am circuit with professionals competing for A$50,000.
