Mitch Brown was the only player to break par on the challenging par-70 layout at Townsville Golf Club to win the 2018 Club Car Townsville Pro-Am.

""Townsville Golf Club are experiencing some exciting times with a land development progressing as planned which will see the final 12 holes of the golf course redeveloped, new practice and driving range facilities and a new, re-located clubhouse to be built in the coming years

Brown, who had never been to Townsville before, said the sunny North Queensland weather was a welcome change for this time of year.

“When I left NSW it was pouring rain and freezing so to enjoy a North QLD winter with 25 degree days and blue skies is great," said Brown.

“I am heading to Samoa in the coming days so this prizemoney goes a long way to keeping the expenses down heading to a busy travel period here in QLD, Samoa and then the Northern Territory in August."

Brown’s round included five birdies two bogies and a double bogey and was good enough for a one-shot victory from Dane McArdle and Rick Coleman.

The next event on the Ladbrokes PGA Pro-Am Series is the Pioneer Valley Pro-Am being played on Saturday before the CMR Mackay Pro-Am early next week.
