The Gunnedah Stripes Asset Services Pro-Am teed off a busy September in NSW on the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series.
Even though the region has been suffering like so many other country areas in Australia with lack of rain the golf course was in superb condition, with the greens rolling as good as any the players had putted on all season.
Clayton Bridges, 4-under 66 would see him victorious by two shots. Teeing off the tenth Bridges would back the turn 4-under par which in the end was the key to his victory.
“I’ve been playing up in the Philippines a bit this year and it’s nice to be home. I enjoyed the golf course and was surprised how could a condition it was in given they’ve had no rain out here," said Bridges.
Aaron Townsend and Matthew Stieger would share runner-up with 2 under 68.
The only other player to break par was Alex Edge with 1-under 69 seeing him finish outright fourth.
Rounding out the top five were a trio of players including Gunnedah’s Head Professional, Luke Ryan. Luke’s even-par round was matched by Leigh McKechnie and Benjamin Weidmaier.
The NSW/ACT Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series swing heads to the coast for the Kew Country Club Pro-Am on Sunday.
