There was a chill in the air and frost on the ground as round two of the Carriers Arms Hotel-Motel Maryborough Pro-Am got underway with a temperature of only 1 degree testing the early morning field.

Overnight leader Dale Brandt-Richards fired a 3-under par 67 in perfect scoring conditions to claim victory in the Carriers Arms Hotel-Motel Maryborough Pro-Am.

The 28-year-old finished at 11- under par for the 36 holes, three shots ahead of fellow New South Welshman Robert Hogan who shot 5-under par 65 today and 8-under par total.

Brandt-Richards made his intentions clear with a strong start to his final round recording four birdies in the first eight holes to make the turn at 4-under par 30.

A couple of errors on the back-9 including a ball out of bounds on the 14^th hole, resulting in a double bogey and a back-9 total of 37.

“The front-9 is where you need to make your score on this course," said Brandt-Richards.

“My goal was to get off to a solid start and try and get it to 4-under par today.

“I was on track till I made double bogey down the 14^th hole, fortunately, I bounced straight back with a birdie on the 15^th hole which was great."

Professional Robert Hogan who hails from the Toukley Golf Club has recorded his best finish of the year on the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series with his second place here today.

“It’s great to put a couple of good rounds together," said Hogan.

“I am looking forward to competing over the next few weeks.”

The next stop on the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series will be the Maroochy River Golf Club Pro-Am to be held Thursday 19-20 July 2018.
