""Sunshine Coast-based Boyce shot rounds of 8-under 65 and 9-under 64 for a tournament total of 17-under to win by one shot from Brett Rankin who fired two consistent rounds of 8-under 65 for a 16-under par total.

“The wind was really gusty at times," said Boyce.

“Especially out the back of the course where the holes are much more exposed, you had to be careful with club selection, I made this my main focus for the day.

“I struck the ball so well today, every shot seemed to finish next to the flag which gave me a lot of birdie opportunities.

“I’m thrilled to walk away with the win here and I am looking forward to continuing this good form into the next event.”

Overnight leader Paul Hayden finished the event in third position after shooting rounds of 9-under 64, 6-under 67 to finish 15-under the card.

Queenslander Brett Rankin still holds a commanding lead over the field for the Onsite Rental Group Mining Towns Series at 45-under par and has extended his lead to seven shots over Paul Hayden who is currently sitting at 38-under par.
