The WA Day long weekend in the West means it’s Nexus Risk Services Southwest Open time on the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series.

After a leisurely day of entertaining the sponsors in the annual Qube Ports and Bulk Sponsors day, the players were ready to hit Bunbury Golf Course this morning for the Open.

Steeped in over 70 years of history this event is a highlight on the calendar with the Bunbury course prepared to perfection.

Despite the cold weather, scoring was hot with Jarryd Felton shooting 3-under 69, Brad Moules and Daniel fox both scoring 4-under 68 and the Dunsborough Pro-Am winner from Thursday Michael Choi posting a sensational 5-under 67.

Once again it was a familiar name who shot to the front, Braden Becker continued his sensational play posting 8-under 64 falling just one shy of the current course record set by Paul Spargo in 2012.

Teeing off on the 10^th Becker quickly turned the front-9 in 4-under par before quickly jumping to 7-under for the day with an eagle 3 on the 2^nd hole and another birdie on 4^th.

He then cruised in with one more birdie on his 3^rd last hole, the 7^th, before signing for his 64 and three-shot lead.

“I’m looking forward to tomorrow, can’t wait to hopefully continue playing the way I am. Course set up is immaculate, hence why the great scoring," said Becker.

Final Days play is set to tee off tomorrow at 7.10am with the leaders hitting the course at 12.22pm
