Professional Damien Jordan has claimed the Grind It Stumps & Roots and Any Energy Riverlakes Pro-Am after firing 6-under par 64
The Tweed Heads based professional credited his good putting and approach shots as the key to his success today.
“The course was in fantastic condition it just keeps getting better and better with each year,” said Jordan.
“I was really pleased with my approach shots; I would have hit 10 shots to within 10 feet of the pin which gave me a lot of birdie chances.
“I made a string of birdies on the 6th, 7th and 8th holes to get to 6-under for the day. I made a par on the 9th and a great up and down to save my par on the 10th hole, which was my last hole for the day.”
The next placed professional was Marcus Cain who was in the morning filed and shot a 5-under par 65.
The next stop on the PGA Ladbrokes Pro-am Series is the Howeston Pro-Am where play begins at 8.30am tomorrow Thursday, 14 September.
