2017 was the 17th staging of the Casino Golf Club Ladbrokes PGA Pro-Am and saw Professional Steven Jones, who was joint winner in the 2016 Casino Pro-Am, fire a 7-under par 63 to claim outright victory by one shot over the field on an unusually hot October day.
The Gold Coast Professional's round included six birdies 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 14th and 16th holes.
An eagle mid way through the round on the 500 metre par5, 7th courtesy of a chip in really got the round going.
His only blemish was a bogey on the Par 4, 13th hole resulting from a 3-putt.
“I struck my driver really well today,” said Jones.
"When I can get my driver going well it gives me an advantage over the rest of the field, I just haven’t been able to do that of late.”
The next best placed Professionals were James Gibellini and Jacob Boyce in a tie for second place after firing rounds of 6-under par 64.
The next stop on the Ladbrokes PGA Pro-Am Series is the Carlton United Breweries Ocean Shores Pro-Am to be played Tuesday 10 October at the Ocean Shores Country Club.
