The Onsite Rental Group Mining Towns Series moved to the Blackwater Golf Club for the Purcell’s Engineering Blackwater Pro-Am

38 Professionals teed off in testing conditions, with a strong breeze combined with the fastest greens the players have yet encountered in the series.  The field experienced higher scoring rounds today due to the trying conditions.

Ryan Haller has continued his run of form in the Purcell’s Engineering Blackwater Pro-Am, firing a 4-under par 68, to be tied in the lead with Nelson Turner who is enjoying some of the best golf of his career.

Haller went out with one birdie and one bogey for his even par front-9, then stormed home with 4-under par on the back-9 including birdies on the 10th, 11th, 15th and 16th.

“It was a tough breeze today which limited scoring opportunities, placement was key on the greens, as they were really quick especially if your ball finished in the wrong position,” Haller said.

Nelson Turner enjoyed another solid performance carding seven birdies, one bogey and a slight blemish taking a double on the tight 14th hole.

“I’m really relaxed on the course at the moment and just enjoying playing golf, my plan is just to do the same tomorrow,” Turner said.

The top standings in the Onsite Rental Group Mining Towns Series are tight with Steven Jeffress on 12-under par holding a one shot lead over Paul Hayden at 11-under. Brett Rankin and Nelson Turner are a further shot back on 10 under.

The final round of the Blackwater Pro-Am tees is underway, with the lead group including Ryan Haller and Nelson Turner teeing off at 11:30am.

The Onsite Rental Group Mining Towns Series is part of the Ladbrokes PGA Pro-Am series.
