Peter Senior has continued an impressive run of form on the Ladbrokes Legends Tour, winning the Global Hire Rowes Bay Legends Pro-Am by five shots with a dominant display of golf.
Senior was at his stunning best at Rowes Bay Golf club in Townsville for the first of three events in support of the region that was devastated by floods earlier this year.
Following on from his joint QLD Senior PGA Championship win the day before, Senior put the foot down early to fire six birdies on the front nine, followed by a single birdie on the back-9 for a final scorecard of 7-under 66.
“Considering what these golf courses endured earlier this year the course was in fantastic condition,” said Senior.
“The staff here have done an amazing job and I hope that by bringing the Legends Tour to Townsville we’re able to help raise some much-needed funds.”
Competition remained tight among the remaining 31 professionals competing in Townsville with Glenn Joyner, Richard Gilkey and Alan Cooper all carding rounds of 2-under 71 to tie for second place.
Brad Burns and David Diaz tied for fifth place at 1-under the card.
The Ladbrokes Legends Tour now moves to Townsville Golf Club for the Townsville Legends Pro-Am on 8 August 2019.
