Brad Burns has claimed his second win in a week, after winning the Kerry Campbell Homes Fraser Coast Legends Classic at Hervey Bay Golf Club.

Starting the day at 1-under par, Burns replicated his opening round 69 to finish at 2-under the card, two shots ahead of a pack of players including Brett Dwyer, David Merriman and Shaquill Mongol, who is in Australia having travelled from the US, after gaining his playing rights at the start of the year at Qualifying School.

“It’s always fun returning to Hervey Bay. They put on a great event and the Legends Professionals really enjoy playing the course,” said Burns.

“To be honest, I really didn’t think my score would be good enough and somewhat surprised when informed of the win.

“I have really been working hard on my wedge play and it’s nice to see that hard-work starting pay off.”

With the win here today, Burns has moved up into the second place on the Ladbrokes Legends Tour Order of Merit, $900 behind leader, Glenn Joyner. Joyner is currently in the UK, attempting to Pre-qualify for the British Senior Open to be played at St Andrews next week.

The QLD leg of the Ladbrokes Legends Tour now heads west with the first of three Pro-Ams teeing off at the Millmerran Golf Club on Tuesday.
