Glenn Joyner has won the third and final Ladbrokes Legends Tour event in Townsville with a round of 3-under 69 at Tropics Golf Club.
Playing each of Townsville’s golf courses to raise funds following devastating floods earlier this year, 33 senior Professionals teed it up on the strong Tropics layout which proved tricky for many.
Joyner posted four birdies and an eagle in his round of 69 to take a one-shot win in the Build it Property Group Legends Pro-Am.
“It has been fantastic to be up here in Townsville supporting these clubs,” said Joyner.
“It hasn’t been an easy road for them this year but we’ve had an absolute ball and I look forward to coming back and playing here again soon.”
Richard Backwell’s round of four birdies and two bogeys saw him return to the clubhouse at 2-under 70 to earn second place.
Michael Harwood, winner of the Townsville Legends Pro-Am, continued his good form with a round of 1-under 71 for third place.
Fan favourite Peter Senior was amongst the action for most of the round before disqualifying himself after taking an incorrect drop.
