Tim Hart and Chris Wood have tackled challenging conditions at the McKimm’s Real Estate Grafton Pro-Am to win with rounds of 5-under 67.
Winds gusting from the west combined with some of the fastest greens we have played all year on the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series made scoring difficult for the 56 player field.
Order of Merit leader Tim Hart has continued his dominating form on the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series, notching up another joint victory with consistent play.
Hart’s round included six birdies and just one bogey resulting from a three-putt green.
“The greens rolled well but were really quick out there, probably the fastest we’ve played all year,” said Hart.
“I really enjoy playing here in Grafton, the layout is fantastic it’s one event I always look forward to coming back for.”
Brisbane-based player Chris Wood has claimed his second win on Sunshine swing for this season and credits his good ball control in the wind for his success.
“I knew it would be tricky out there, the way the wind was up so early, I just played smart and didn’t try and go for too many tight pins,” said Wood.
“The highlight of my round was the eagle on the 462m par-5, 2nd hole where I hit it to three-foot and made the putt for a three.
“This really got things going and I went on to make a couple of great saves coming in.”
A trio of players have finished in equal third position including Breanna Gill, Aaron Pike and Andrew Campbell who all finished with scores of 4-under 68.
The next stop on the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series is the Yamba Golf Club for the Clarence Coast Air Yamba Pro-Am where play begins at 7.00am Saturday 10 August 2019.
