For the first time Yeppoon Golf Club will host the Capricorn Coast leg of the Ladbrokes PGA Legends Tour this week.
The Yeppoon Legends Pro-Am will play out over two rounds for a prize purse of $30,000. Legends teed off in perfect conditions for the first round of the event.
Victorian Professional Tim Elliott has shot the low score of the day, a 2-under par 69 to take a two shot lead into the final round of the Yeppoon Legends Pro-Am.
Elliott got off to a slow start taking a bogey at his opening hole but managed to finish the front-9 holes even par, 35. Elliott started the back-9 well with birdies coming at the 12th and 14th holes till a double bogey on the his 15th hole halted his momentum, a strong finish with birdies on the 17th, 18th holes to finish 2-under par 34.
“There are birdie opportunities but you have to be careful as the greens can be tricky if you finish on the wrong side of the hole so patience is the key. I’m in a good position with a two shot lead heading into the final round tomorrow and looking to continue my good form," said Elliott.
The next best placed professionals are Grant Fyander, Mike Zilko and Alan Cooper who are all well positioned on even par score of 71.
