Six Australians remain in the hunt to take a chunk of the $70 million FedEx Cup bounty following the completion of the PGA TOUR regular season.

Cam DavisSydney’s Cameron Davis was the best of the Aussies at the Wyndham Championship won by JT Poston but his tie for 22nd was not enough to move him into the top 125 on the moneylist, he and Curtis Luck now with the option to play in the Korn Ferry Tour finals to improve their conditional status for the 2020 season.

The three-event FedEx Cup Playoffs commence this week with The Northern Trust at Liberty National where Marc Leishman, Adam Scott, Jason Day, Cameron Smith, Aaron Baddeley and Matt Jones along with Kiwi Danny Lee will tee it up.

Smith and Jones were the only ones to play the Wyndham Championship and both missed the cut.

Smith shot 66 in the first round and seemed well positioned but a second round of 1-over 71 saw him miss the cut on the number and drop four spots to 79th on the FedEx Cup points standings.

With only the top 70 to advance to the second week of the playoffs Smith will need a strong week in his first look at Liberty National to play the BMW Championship.

Jones had a somewhat nervous wait after failing to qualify for the weekend rounds at the Wyndham but his fall of just six spots moved him to 115th in the final standings to secure not only a place in the playoffs but a full PGA TOUR card in 2020.

Lee enters the FedEx Cup playoffs in 66th position having been disqualified midway through his second round at Sedgefield Country Club.
