MyGolf inspires at Victorian Amputee Open

The Victorian Amputee Open will run an Australian-first MyGolf Clinic for kids with limb differences to inspire the next generation of golfers.

The Victorian Amputee Open will run an Australian-first MyGolf Clinic for kids with limb differences to inspire the next generation of golfers.

""Limbs 4 Life, in collaboration with Amputee Golf Victoria and the Ballarat Golf Club, will host Australia’s national junior participation program, which is designed to include all levels of ability.

Limbs 4 Life CEO Melissa Noonan says golf plays a strong part in bringing families together and promoting physical activity for everyone.

“Golf is such a great sport for amputees of all ages. It’s one of the only sports that supports rehabilitation through low-impact physical activity and improves balance and stability for amputees,” Noonan said.

Limbs 4 Kids fully supports golf as a national peer support program for kids, youth and families who experience limb loss.

“Golf has been tried and tested, we have had some great success with our kids’ golf programs (and) we’re excited to be working with Amputee Golf Victoria on pathways for more youth to engage with the sport,” Noonan said.

The clinic will be run by PGA All Abilities coaches, Angela Tatt, David Wallis and Darren Bowman, and supported by other amputees competing in the Victorian Amputee Open.
