Married to Kathie (1975). Two sons Bobby (1977) and Brett (1982). During his playing days, Bob was on the PGA Tour board for six years and had a substantial influence on tournaments in Australia. He is currently a member of the Victorian PGA Executive. After five years on the European tour Bob moved his family to the USA and played successfully on the US PGA tour for nine years, playing in four Masters, four US Opens and five US PGA events. Throughout these years, Bob Shearer never failed to come home and support the local Australian events. In all, Bob won 23 professional tournaments around the world, but when asking him what was the pinnacle of his career, he would tell you the 1982 Australian Open when he went head to head with the great Jack Nicklaus for three rounds before finally winning. Whilst these days Bob is seriously involved in Golf Course Architecture, he still maintains his infectious sense of humour and a penchant for a good time and a chat over a beer about golf and other sports. He has a website www.shearergolfdesign.com.
