Highlights: 2009: Played three events on the Australasian Tour making all three cuts with his best result T28 at the Cellabrations Victorian PGA Championship. Finished 85th on the Money List...Went into the final event of the 2009 Challenge Tour season, the Apulia San Domenico Grand Final, in 39th place in the Rankings, and in need of a top two finish to secure a return to The European Tour. Made it to a play off and Was beaten on the first playoff hole but the €34,200 he collected for finishing runner-up was enough to propel him 24 places up the Rankings to 15th and he earned his European Tour card for 2010.

2008: Feb: Earned a place at the 2008 Open Championship finishing in first place by three shots at IFQ Australasia at The Lakes in Sydney. Shot rounds of 67 & 71 to finish three shots ahead of Ewan Porter, Peter Fowler and Brad Lamb to earn his first appearance at a Major. Was his third attempt at IFQ.....Played 6 events on Australasian Tour, finishing 88th on the OOM. Made two cuts - best result 65th at the Johnnie Walker Classic.....2008 August: Claimed his maiden professional victory on the European Challenge Tour winning the Challenge of Ireland, finishing a stroke clear of Richard Bland and David Drysdale on eight under par at Glasson Golf Hotel and Country Club. After starting the day tied 11th he reeled off four consecutive birdies before the turn before he holed a 12ft birdie putt on the last hole for an impressive final round 67, the joint best round of the day.

2007: Finished 27th on the Australasian Tour OOM with results including T10 at the MasterCard Masters & T20 at the MFS Australian Open.....2007: took a three stroke lead at the half way mark of the Enjoy Jakarta Indonesian Open in Asia in Feb in his fourth event on the European Tour. Finished T2...... 2007: With rounds of 68, 66 and 68, Tampion had a one-shot lead heading into the final round of the NAB Victorian PGA Championship on the Von Nida Tour. Eventually finished T4 on 9 under, two shots behind winner Ashley Hall.

2006: Turned professional in November. Made the cut in his debut as a professional finishing T60 at the 2006 MasterCard Masters at Huntingdale in Melbourne, his hometown....One of only six players to come through all three Stages of The 2006 European Tour Qualifying School (finishing T24) to win a Tour card.

Came through Victorian Institute of Sport programme in Melbourne. Still coached by the Institute’s Head Coach Denis McDade.
