Highlights: 2008: Played on Asian Tour. Enjoyed his best season in Asia when he finished fifth on the Order of Merit with one victory and six other top-10s. A third place finish at the Singha Thailand PGA Championship sparked his superb run as he went on to post two more top-10s before winning the Macau Open from start to finish.

2007: Qualified for his first Open Championship after making it through International Final Qualifying in Asia.

2006: just missed out on claming his second Asian Tour title (August) finishing second best in the playoff to Chinese Taipei veteran Wang Ter-chang at the US$300,000 Brunei Open. The duo finished tied 16 under-par 268 at the Empire Golf and Country Club but 44 year old Wang sealed his victory at the par four 18th second play-off hole, when Gleeson missed a five foot par putt that rimmed the cup.

2004/05: Lost his Asian Tour card in 2004, finishing one rung too low on the Order of Merit in 61st place. Returned to Qualifying School in January, 2005 and missed out on a top-40 finish to regain his card by one stroke, but subsequently played in 14 tournaments without great success.

2002/03: Broke through in a big way in 2002 by winning the Volvo China Open where he held at least a share of the lead in every round. Finished tied fifth in 2002 SK Telecom Open in Korea. Was tied eighth in 2003 Volvo China Open.

2001: Played regularly in Asia in 2001 with joint fifth finish at Wills Indian Open being his best outing. Finished ninth in 2001 Australian PGA Championship.

Rated as one of the top amateurs in Australia in the mid 1990s.

Won the Australian Amateur Championship in 1996. Was a member of the team that won the Eisenhower Trophy in the Philippines in 1996.
