Married Sally, April 2008 in Perth. Nicknamed 'Rummy.' Took up the game at the age of 10 when dad, Mike, held a company golf day near family home in Perth, Western Australia. Caddied as a youth for Ross Metherell - a double winner on the European Seniors Tour - who has subsequently become his coach Turned professional in January, 2000 at the New Zealand Open. Was the first player to turn pro mid-season since Jarrod Moseley and Partridge in 1997. Formerly worked as a cable-puller for television broadcasts at the Heineken Classic.

Finished 23rd on 2007 Australasian Tour OOM with best results including T5 at the Jacob's Creek Open & T13 at the Cadbury Schweppes Austn PGA Championship. Also finished 48th on final 2007 European Tour Order of Merit. 2007: September: chipped in for victory on the first play off hole to defeat England’s Phillip Archer in a sudden death play off at the Omega European Masters in Switzerland and claim his third European Tour career victory. The 30-year-old from Perth, winner of the St Omer Open in 2003 and Irish Open in 2004, chipped in from 30 feet to claim his third European Tour title and the €333,330 ($548,400) first prize. Had best finish on Australasian Tour in 2006 with three top 10 results including two second placings.
