Porker was out early and made the most of the calm conditions. Two birdies on the front nine combined with another two on the back rocketed Porker into a share of the lead.

"I knew after shooting 1-under yesterday, if I could post a decent score this morning it would put me in good shape for the final rounds."

Porker is no stranger to four round tournaments having turned professional some nine years ago in 2006 and has competed regularly on the PGA Tour of Australasia.

"Adam
Porker will no doubt draw upon this professional experience as he heads into the final two rounds.

Overnight leader Deyen Lawson found it hard to find any momentum in a round which included four birdies and six bogeys. Despite his disappointing round of 2-over 74, Lawson still finds himself tied for the lead and will be a major threat over the final two rounds given his
ability to score low.

First year Victorian trainee Andrew Cooper advanced up the leader board into outright third following his 5-under 67 which included six birdies to earn him the low score for round two.

Host Trainee Ash Blake shot a 3-under 69 and combined with his round one score a 4-over par 76, moves him through to the third round with 1-over par total and tied 8th position.

Whilst the conditions today were conducive to low scoring, the Captain’s course proved demanding for most with its tight fairways and slick greens.

Players would have made plenty of mental notes for Friday when they will again engage with the Captain’s course for the title.
