Play underway at QLD Trainee Championship

Some of Australia’s finest PGA Trainee Professionals have teed off this morning vying for the 2017 Tony Hollands Funerals Queensland PGA Trainee Championship title.

""For the second consecutive year, Trainees are competing at the Indooroopilly Golf Club, with the tournament once again taking on the unique aspect of playing four separate layouts across the 72 hole event.

Robert Hogan is back to defend the title he won in emphatic fashion last year, while Caloundra Trainee Professional Jacob Boyce will be looking for redemption after stumbling over the closing holes in last year’s Championship.

“Indooroopilly tests all aspects of your game and with the course in great condition, the best player this week will walk away as the champion,” said Boyce.

“Although my game hasn’t been in the best shape so far this year, I return to Indooroopilly with positive thoughts after my performance here last year. Hopefully this is the catalyst I need to turn my game around and get my game moving in the right direction.”

A quality list of Trainee Professionals are competing this year, and apart from Hogan and Boyce, first year Indooroopilly Trainee Ben Pisani and last month’s Victorian/Tasmanian Trainee Champion Gavin Fairfax are all expected to do well.
