After squaring in 2015 and not played in 2016, the PGA Trainees secured bragging rights on Monday after taking out a closely fought match with the PGA IGI students.

10 matches were played out in the Match play teams event, with the final score being 6.5 – 3.5 around the Sanctuary Cove Palms course.

Four of the 10 matches went down the 18^th hole, with the PGA Trainees securing 3 wins and a halve out of the those four matches.

The event gives the PGA IGI students not only an opportunity to play against the PGA Trainees, but also the chance to discuss the Trainee program to those IGI students that may wish to progress to the program in the future.

The annual match has been staged since 2005.
