It was ladies day at the Pampling Plate as the top-32 qualifiers took to the course for the first round of match play.

With qualifying rounds for the Pampling Plate played on
Monday three female Trainees earned their place in the prestigious tournament.

Representing the girls were Alexandra Orchard from Surfers
Paradise Golf Club, Anna Stanton from Palmer Colonial Golf Course and Jade
Fisher from Jindalee Golf Club.

Orchard sailed through her opening round against Graeme
Moore 9&8 before Dean Dagan presented her with more of a challenge. However
she moved through to the top-8 1UP.

Stanton also showed her match play prowess winning her first
match 5&4 against Ryan Mouque before defeating Nick Rogers 3&2 to also
progress to the top-8.

Fisher came up against a stronger challenge in her first
match taking all 18 holes to defeat Garrett Skinner 1UP.

However she also took out the biggest win of the day,
defeating defending champion Paul Griffiths 2&1 to also ensure her place in
the top-8.

Other notables to have progressed to the top-8 include local
Trainee Rick Coleman and leading qualifier Daniel Morgan.
