""Manly Golf Club Trainee Professional Will Flitcroft will begin the final round with a two shot buffer following a solid 3-over par 75 in today’s third round.

Fellow New South Welshman Jason Perkin and Nathan Mann also shot 3-over par rounds of 75 and will join Flitcroft in the final group on Friday.

Flitcroft started with a poor front-9 on Thursday, going out in 4-over par. Patience and perseverance may pay dividends, as he ground out one of the best back-9’s of the tournament with a 1-under par 34 to vault back into contention and the lead.

“I’m surprised to finish with the outright lead to be honest. Today’s conditions were a bit friendlier and I thought some lower scores may have come however I’m really pleased with my back 9 effort. An eagle on the 10th hole got me back on track with my round. I will go into tomorrow feeling confident in my game,” Flitcroft said.

Overnight leader Andrew Thompson struggled to find his groove on day three, shooting a disappointing 81 (+8) to fall back to outright fourth position.

While the wind subsided slightly on day three, the Bungool layout was again the winner. Even par 72 was the best score of the day, shot by Charles Wright (QLD), Tyler Marotti (VIC) and Frazer Droop (VIC).
