Jacob Boyce and Sam Price
will battle it out in the final of the Pampling Plate after convincing wins in
their semi final matches at Caboolture Golf Club.

"SamCaloundra Trainee Jacob Boyce, who dominated his previous matches
in the event, struggled to gain an advantage over his opponent Angus Porter
from the Carbrook Golf Club and were all square in the semi final after nine
holes.

The momentum shifted after both players squared the tenth hole and
Boyce went on to win the next five holes with Porter conceding the 15th
hole to have Boyce win the match 5&3.

In the other semi final match, Price also won 5&3 over his
opponent Thomas Callender from the Wynnum Golf Club. This is the first time
that the left handed Price has competed in the event but has been preparing
over the previous weeks.

"Hearing how tough this event can be if you want to make it all
the way to the final, I’ve looked to get myself in good physical condition
leading up to it" said Price who is the son of Tour Pro Terry Price.

"It’s been tough mentally as well as physically having played 36
holes over the past three days. It’s a real contest."

Boyce will be looking to go wire to wire after finishing as the
top qualifier on Monday and is looking forward to the final.

"I’ll be going into the final with a great deal of confidence"
said Boyce.

"Sam will no doubt be a tough opponent and I’m sure it will be a
close match."

The final match between
Boyce and Price was due to begin this morning whilst the playoff for 3rd
& 4th will commence at approximately 11.30am.
