Victoria Park Golf Complex is working wonders for the MyGolf junior program in Brisbane this term!

""Providing a family atmosphere for all, the course now provides lessons for more than 70 kids for 10 weeks – and so successfully that Victoria Park is our September MyGolf centre of the month.

The facility provides three levels for various skills and age groups so that anyone can join in the fun.

All classes enjoy the putting greens and the driving range, while the more advanced sessions incorporate learning on course.

“We incorporate fine motor skills such as throwing, bouncing and balancing for the beginner courses,” said PGA Professional and MyGolf co-ordinator, Tim Porter.

“The youngest participants range from 4-8 years old and use modified SNAG equipment for their sessions.

“We offer smaller classes for the younger groups so that they are provided more coaching in a less intimidating environment.”

The facility has recently launched a Friday junior competition to add another level to the existing programs.

School holiday clinics are also run after each term, with interactive and fun skills tests, competitions and games to keep the kids active and entertained during the holidays.

“Our main goal as a golf club is to make it available for more families and kids to come down and be introduced to the game. We are a public access facility with no restrictions at all, everyone is welcome to come down and have a go,” Tim said.

“Í would like to thank all of the coaches that assist with the program, especially head coach Shaun Dwyer for his efforts this term.”

Congratulations to Victoria Park on its ongoing achievements.
