A world of opportunities for Zunic

23-year-old Jordan Zunic’s career makes for a unique story for someone so young.

23-year-old Jordan Zunic’s career makes for a unique story for someone so young.

"JordanZunic has been on a steep learning curve since his surprise
win at the start of the year.

As an elite amateur, Zunic was on top of his game and
relishing the opportunity to compete in the prestigious US amateur tournaments.

But his trip was cut short when he was involved in a near
fatal car accident which left him with a triple-fracture in his left elbow, bad
head cuts, significant blood loss and unsure if he would ever play golf again.

However months of rest, followed by plenty of hard work and
determination saw Zunic taking part in Qualifying School for the PGA Tour of
Australasia.

Zunic failed to earn his card but, not one to be deterred by
setbacks, decided to turn Professional anyway.

Monday qualifying for tournaments, Zunic earned a start in
the Holden NZ PGA Championship where a tied 8th finish saw him
teeing it up the next week in the BMW New Zealand Open.

It was in Queenstown that Zunic really burst onto the PGA
Tour of Australasia and international golf stage.

Zunic fired rounds of 68, 66, 66, 66 to win the tournament,
just his third as a Professional, by one shot.

Thanks to his his win, the world has been opened up to Zunic
and this week he finds himself in Japan competing in the Japan Tour
Championship the first of three Japanese exemptions he earned via his New
Zealand victory.

"My life has
undergone a huge change, I feel like my game has hit a new level and my
confidence has increased," said Zunic.

"I have so many
tournaments to play in now for the rest of this year, it feels great."

"It’s definitely
sinking in now and I’m really happy to be playing and competing against so many
good players here in Asia."

Travelling and competing in Asian has been a steep learning
curve for Zunic, he has already spent two weeks in Korea where he missed the
cut before showing some promising signs.

"I found the
conditions a little hard to adjust to at the first tournament I played," said
Zunic who played in the GS Maekyung Open at Namseoul Country Club on OneAsia.

"The elevation
changes on the course were unlike anything I’ve seen before."

"Though I missed
the cut, I took all the positives I could out of that week and used it to play
better the following week."

"I definitely
feel my game is improving every time I tee it up, I’m getting comfortable with
the travel and the style of golf played over here," added Zunic.

But like everything in his life Zunic is taking it all in
his stride, with a positive attitude and is enjoying the experience along the
way.

"The experience
has been fantastic! I’ve been having a lot of fun and really enjoying the
different style of golf courses over here," added Zunic.
