Queenslander Tim Hart has been dominating the pro-am scene in his home state making his presence felt in just his second season as a Professional.

"TimAs the Sunshine Swing of the Choice Hotels PGA Pro-Am Series heads into the second half of the season at the Southport Pro-Am on Monday, Hart has taken a commanding lead in the MLC Advice Nundah Order of Merit race, leading his nearest competitor Josh Cabban by $12,500.

Hart has been more than consistent this year, recording an impressive 15 top-10 finishes from 19 pro-am starts on the Sunshine Swing this year.

Hart’s 2015 season has been highlighted by wins at the Middlemount Pro-Am and most recently at the Gympie Pro-Am which was held just a couple of weeks ago.

Hart also amassed an amasing 42-under par across 11 rounds to claim back-to-back PCR Polyweld Mining Town Series in late May.

Although Hart has accomplished so much in such a short period of time in pro-am golf, he is now keen to parlay that into success on the PGA Tour of Australasia with this week’s Isuzu Queensland Open providing the perfect opportunity.

"My form has been really consistent so far this year, but there is no doubt in my own mind that I now need to replicate my performances from pro-ams in Tour events," said Hart.

"The quality of fields doesn’t differ too much between the four round pro-ams and the state based championships on the PGA Tour of Australasia and having lost too close play-offs this year in four round pro-ams, I know my game is good enough to contend."

"This week is a great opportunity for me to take that next step, and I am looking forward to the challenge Brookwater will offer over the course of the next four rounds."

Hart has been close to success on the PGA Tour of Australasia with a tied fourth finish at the Coca-Cola QLD PGA Championship in February.

While Hart has a solid lead on the Order of Merit he will be keen to take out the title, with the MLC Advice Nundah Order of Merit Champion receiving a cheque for approximately $10,000.

Professionals who finish second and third on the Order of Merit will also receive a bonus of $3,000 and $2,000 to assist them in taking the next step in their careers.

The likes of Greg Norman, Wayne Grady and more recently Marc Leishman have all started their careers on the Sunshine Swing of the Choice Hotels PGA Pro-Am Series, with the golfing public no doubt waiting for the likes of Hart to make the next step in their professional golfing career.

The Sunshine Swing forms part of the Choice Hotels PGA Pro-Am Series which comprises of 200 events Australia wide and the Asia Pacific region.

Played across more than 170 golf courses the Choice Hotels PGA Pro-Am Series plays an important part in the development of Australia’s Professional Golfers whilst also growing the game at a grass roots level by engaging an estimated 48,000 amateur golfers each year.
