Anthony Summers has taken out the Mulpha Pro-Am for the second time at the Castle Hill Country Club. Summer’s previous victory was in the inaugural event played back in 2005.

""The Mulpha Pro-Am is one of the most prestigious events on the Ladbrokes NSW/ACT PGA Pro-Am series. This year was testament to that when 13 players committed to play the event the same week as they will contest the Nexus Risk TSA Group WA Open on the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia.

It was Summers first round that would set up the victory. On a blustery afternoon Summers shot a sensational 7-under par 65 which would see him three shots clear going into the final round.

He continued to play flawlessly to back up his first round with a final round 4-under par 68. His impressive total of 11-under par 133 would see his margin of victory in increase to four shots.

“I have always enjoyed playing in this event and seem to play well around here. Last week on the Central Coast I gained confidence with my finish at the Wyong Pro Am after not having played for a while," Summers said.

“The last two days I couldn’t fault my ball striking and I holed out well. It’s a great feeling to be in the winner’s circle again."

Brett Rankin would finish runner up on 7-under par 137. Rankin gave himself a chance by shooting a 6-under par 30 on the front nine but three closing bogeys stop his charge.

Rounding out the top five were Steven Jeffress on 3-under par 141, Damien Jordan on 2-under par 142, Mitchell Brown, Adam Stephens, Matt Stieger and Aaron Townsend on even par 144.

The Ladbrokes NSW/ACT PGA Pro Am Series will travel to Gunnedah for its next event on Friday.
