Perfect conditions have greeted players for the opening round of the 2015 Anglo American Middlemount Pro-Am, along with the PCR Polyweld Mining Town Series.

In his first trip to the Mining Towns Series, Callan O’Reilly will take a one shot lead into tomorrow’s final round of the Anglo American Middlemount Pro-Am

O’Reilly’s round included eight birdies, to hold the lead ahead of Adam Blyth, Troy Cox and Sam Eaves

"I have heard so many good things about the Mining Town Events, I had to come and experience it for myself," said O’Reilly.

"I really enjoyed myself out on course today, apart from a couple of soft errors. Hopefully I can keep the errors to a minimum tomorrow and put myself in a position late tomorrow afternoon."

The shot of the day however belonged to Grant Harriman who aced the 166 metre fourth hole.

The final round gets underway tomorrow morning at 7:00am, with the leaders teeing off at midday.
