Fast, perfect greens and strong winds tested the players at the Urban Quarter Dunsborough Lakes Golf Club Pro-Am today.

""These factors didn’t affect eventual winner and local Matt Jager shooting 6-under 66 to win by two shots.

Jager who has supported the WA Pro-am series since the first event at Hartfield has had mixed results but with three good finishes in the bigger events and now a win, feels like he can finish the swing in style.

”I love this place, we spent a lot of time down here when I was young as a family and now as I live in Melbourne it’s always great to get back down here when I can,” Jager said.

“The golf course was in great shape, credit to the green staff but most of all PGA Life Member Len Thomas and his wife Sally for making this event possible.”

Jager who no longer plays full time to be home with family and friends has commenced the PGA Bridging Program to start coaching, his new drive and passion in the game.

“My game has improved since leaving the Tour full time and moving into the program, I haven’t seen a coach for two years and just work on my own swing, I feel really refreshed.”

Victorian Kris Mueck continues to camp at the top of the leaderboard in the Ladbrokes PGA Pro-Am Series finishing second 4-under 68 with another WA local Gavin Reed in third 3-under par.

Jin Jeong (Kor), Alex Pitty (NSW) and Andrew Martin (VIC) split T4 at 2-under par.

The WA Pro-Am series now moves to South West Open at Bunbury Golf Club this Saturday.
