Hart storms home at Redland Bay

Storms couldn’t prevent the Oldmac Mazda Redland Bay Pro-Am from going ahead in its first appearance on the Sunshine Swing since 2001.

Storms couldn’t prevent the Oldmac Mazda Redland Bay Pro-Am from going ahead in its first appearance on the Sunshine Swing since 2001.

""Heavy showers weren’t enough to stop former Redland Bay Trainee Mitchell Jacobson, Luke Hickman and Damien Jordan in the morning field, with the three carding 4-under 68 to hold the clubhouse lead.

However it was current MLC Advice Nundah Order of Merit leader Tim Hart who stole the day firing a 6-under 66 to take the title.

"It wasn’t easy out there today with the blustery winds, with shots requiring more attention than what they normally would," said Hart.

"Patience was certainly the key to my win and has assisted in extending my lead in the race to the Order of Merit title."

"Hopefully I can continue to put myself in contention in the up and coming events on the Sunshine Swing and hold onto the Order of Merit lead."

Professionals will now enjoy a break on the Choice Hotels PGA Pro-Am Series Sunshine Swing, with the next event on the schedule being played at the Virginia Golf Club.

The Virginia Pro-Am will also mark the start to the bmag Week of Golf, with the leading player across the Virginia, City of Brisbane and Indooroopilly pro-ams receiving a bonus of 250,000 frequent flyer points.
