Felton was pleased with his round of 5-under 67 given that he had competed for some time.

"It’s been awhile since I last competed," said Felton.

Felton has diversified his time of late, working on numerous projects in and around golf whilst staying close to home with his young family.

"I was a little rusty out there today but managed to get away with it, that being said, I can see that I’ve got quality players within two shots of my lead so I’d say it’s still any ones tournament at the moment."

Felton isn’t wrong, with seasoned campaigners Michael Long (NZL), Daniel Fox (WA), Max McCardle (SA) and Stephen Dartnall (WA) just one shot back with solid 68’s there is still a lot of golf to be played.

Add to the mix fearless amateur young guns Min Woo Lee (WA) and Curtis Luck (WA) both shooting 69’s who together have their eyes on the prize.

They will surely be looking to turn the table come this time Sunday and contend in what is undoubtedly one of Western Australia’s most coveted trophies.
