Andrew Martin was able to take advantage of his local knowledge of Neangar Park Golf Club to claim the Neangar Park Ladbrokes Pro-Am by Evolution Copy Print Solutions.

""The pro-am, which has been supported by the City of Greater Bendigo for the last four years, was contested in extreme heat once again with the temperature recorded at over 40 degrees.

Martin, who grew up across the road from the course, battled through the stifling heat and shot a round of 8-under 63 to win by one stroke from Matt Millar and Simon Hawkes.

“I grew up across the road, so I was probably here every day as kid,” said Martin.

“I played with Matt (Millar) today and we both got off to a slow start.  Matt then started rolling in some monster putts.

“It kind of came down to the last, Matt made a par and I managed to make a birdie to sneak past him.”

ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia Professional Rory Bourke was quick to praise the Neangar Park Golf Club staff for preparing a course in pristine condition.

“These are the best greens we have putted on in the last 12 months,” said Bourke.

David Bransdon, who is a two time winner of the event, was a late withdrawal as he is currently competing in the SMBC Singapore Open but sent a special message of thanks to the members at Neangar Park for their continued support of Professional golf, support he credits to helping him make it to the lucrative Japan Golf Tour.
