The Pullman Magenta Shores Resort Pro-Am has beaten up the Professionals over the last two years with strong breeze and rain. Thankfully players were greeted by much calmer conditions in round one this year.
Not only were the conditions favourable but the golf course was in immaculate condition.
The scores reflected this with five players shooting sub par rounds.
But it would be Dale Brandt-Richards with 5-under 67 that would see himself leading into the final day by two shots.
After a double bogey on his first hole Brandt-Richards played flawless golf with seven birdies and no other blemishes on the card.
Outright second heading into the final day would be Grant Thomas who fired a 3-under 69 the best score of the morning field.
Tim Stewart would keep himself in the mix with a 2-under 70.
Rounding out the top five after the first round were Chris Akers and Damien Jordan on 1-under 71
The leaders will tee off at 1:00pm today.
