""Yesterday they hosted the Professionals in the inaugural Lake Macquarie Ladbrokes PGA Pro-Am.

It gave the Pros a great chance to play on a course where many of them had competed as amateurs.

The course was in magnificent condition and the scores reflected that with 21 players shooting under par.

But it would be Austin Bautista who would be the pick with an impressive bogey free 6-under par 66 to win by 1 shot.

This is Austin’s first year on tour and second win for the year. “I’m really happy to win. I love coming here and playing I played the Lake Macquarie Amateur the last three years and it’s one of my favourite courses”. Said Bautista.

A trio of players Nathan Miller, Michael Long and Brad McIntosh would take runner up honours with 5 under par 67’s. McIntosh’s round included an incredible 7 under 29 on the front nine.

Rounding out the top five was BJ Taylor with a 4 under par 68.

Next stop for the Ladbrokes NSW/ACT Pro Am Series will be the JSA Financial Group Merewether Pro Am.
