Let’s take a look at the top performing players on the PGA Tour of Australasia in 2014

Greg Chalmers: Having played four events this year Chalmers amassed $254,525 to win the Order of Merit and ensure his place at the WGC – Cadillac Championship and the Nedbank Golf Challenge. His season on home soil was highlighted by his win over Adam Scott in a seven hole playoff at the Australian PGA Championship but he also finished 4th at the Emirates Australian Open and secured a place in The Open Championship.
 
Steven Jeffress: Achieving his career highlight, Jeffress played the very first shot of the inaugural Fiji International and the very last to become the first champion of the tournament. He also finished tied 6th at the Oates Vic Open.

Nick Cullen: Returning to the ISUZU QLD Open as the defending champion Cullen recorded a T12 finish in his title defence. By his own saying 2014 was a quiet year until he won the BetEasy Masters and secured a place at the WGC – Bridgestone Invitational in 2015. He also finished 3rd on the Order of Merit, his best finish to date.
 
Adam Scott: Showing why he is Australia’s best golfer, Scott returned home and contended in each of the three tournaments he played. He finished runner-up at the BetEasy Masters, 5th at the Emirates Australian Open and runner-up at the Australian PGA Championship. He may not have secured a win on home soil but he continued to thrill Aussie sports fans.

Ryan Fox: Arguably one of the best performers on the PGA Tour of Australasia this year the New Zealander recorded his first Tour victory at the WA Open Championship. He also recorded top-10 finishes at three of the Tour’s biggest tournaments; Fiji International, Perth International and Australian Open. He finished T6 in his home country at the NZ Open and T11 at the Australian PGA Championship. He also finished runner-up at the QLD PGA Championship.

Jake Higginbottom: Already a champion on the PGA Tour of Australasia Higginbottom had a strong season on his home Tour. He finished runner-up at the Fiji International and tied 3rd in his next start at the QLD Open. He topped off the year with a 6th place at the Australian Open.

Dimitrios Papadatos:  In just his second year on Tour, Papadatos recorded his first victory at the NZ Open Championship. He won by an emphatic four shots and in the process secured himself three starts on the Japan Tour.

Matthew Griffin: Despite already being a winner on the PGA Tour of Australasia, Griffin recorded his first win on home soil when he won the Vic Open at the start of 2014. He went onto have top-5 finishes at the QLD Open, Perth International and BetEasy Masters

Rod Pampling: The highlight of Pampling’s return to Australia in 2014 was a runner-up finish at the Emirates Australian Open. Thanks to this we will see Pampling teeing it up at The Open Championship in 2015.

Brett Rumford: The West Australian returned home this year and competed in four PGA Tour of Australasia tournaments. He finished top-20 in each of them but was highlighted by a third place finish at the Australian Open. This earns him a place in The Open Championship in 2015.
