Victorian young gun Todd Sinnott has confirmed he will turn Professional following a successful amateur career.

""Golf Australia, the governing body of amateur golf, together with the Victorian Institute of Sport, made the official announcement in Melbourne today.

Sinnotts decision to embark on a Professional career comes after a highly successful 2014 season for the 22-year-old Victorian.

Sinnott successfully secured his PGA Tour of Australasia card after shooting 8-under par for a second place finish at last week’s PGA Tour of Australasia Qualifying School at Victoria Golf Club, which contributed to his decision to turn Professional now.

"Q-School definitely help a lot" said Sinnott

"Having done what what I did at QSchool and getting starts in all events in Australia, we’re pretty confident of a few starts in Europe" he added.

In 2014, Sinnott teed off in six PGA Tour of Australasia sanctioned events as an amateur, with his best finish being at the John Hughes Nexus Risk Services WA Open where he secured a top-10 finish.

Sinnotts first event as a Professional will be in his home state of Victoria, with the excited newbie Pro set to tee off in the 2015 Oates Victorian Open at Thirteenth Beach Golf Links in Barwon Heads next month.

"Playing the Vic Open will be pretty cool, i’ve played it four or five times"

Sinnott also confirmed that he plans to contest both the Victorian and Queensland PGA Championships in 2015.

Sinnott also acknowledged the support of coach, and well-respected PGA Member, Marty Joyce, has played in his development.

"Marty has been sensational."

"Whether i’m playing good or bad he is always there and especially over the past three or four months he’s done so much for me."

Joyce, a long time PGA Member, has previously been involved in mentoring programs for PGA Trainees and continues to present at PGA training schools and summits regularly.

In 2009, Joyce received the PGA Victorian Teaching Professional of the Year award.
