Regardless of where Terry Pilkadaris finishes this week, he won’t go home empty handed. Thanks to an ace on the par-3 15th with his pitching wedge, he currently holds one million Qantas Points.
Earlier this year, the PGA of Australia in partnership with Qantas Golf Club, announced the One Million Qantas Points Hole-in-One promotion to run at all ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia State PGA Championships in 2017.
As part of the airline’s partnership with the PGA, Qantas put one million Qantas Points up for grabs at State PGA Championships across the country.
Pilkadaris, in round two of the Coca-Cola Queensland PGA Championship at City Golf Club became the first player of the season and current holder of the entire prize pool.
"I got lucky, I hit a pitching wedge in there, one bounce and side spins into the hole and the rest is history i guess," Pilkadaris said of the 13th hole-in-one in his career.
Any professional golfer will tell you just how valuable a prize like this can be and it certainly won't go to wast on Pilkadaris.
Thanks to his commitments on the European and Asian Tour, he's already travelled to Singapore, Myanmar, Malaysia, Perth, India and now Toowoomba!
"I play in Asia and Europe so I'll be using those points to fly to those destinations."
Player's will next have the chance to share in Pilkadaris's million points at the TX Civil & Logistics WA PGA Championship at Kalgoorlie Golf Course, 17-20 May.
