Thorjborn Olesen will take a three shot lead into the final round of the ISPA HANDA Perth International being played tomorrow at Lake Karrinyup Country Club.

Firing a 5-under 67 in the third round, Olesen sits atop the leaderboard at 16-under the card, he will start tomorrow with a three shot lead over Korean Sihwan Kim.

Despite shooting six birdies and just one bogey, only his second for the tournament, Olesen wasn’t feeling comfortable with his game today.

"I tried to go out there and be aggressive like I did the first two days, but I didn’t have the game today," said Olesen.

"It didn’t feelgood, I was struggling out there.  I made some great up and downs to keep it going." 

"But, I still had fun and I was fighting all the way. It’s awesome to shoot 5‑under today when I was struggling a little bit."

Olesen, who last won in 2012 at the Sicilian Open on the European Tour, is aware how difficult it is to close out a tournament and is happy to have a three shot buffer.

"It’s been a couple of years since I won, so definitely I’ll feel the nerves.  I’ve been in contention in big tournaments and I know how it feels," added Olesen who finished sixth at The Masters in 2013.

"I always think it’s easier (to win) when you’re three shots clear. That’s where you want to be."

"But you still have in the back of your head that it’s going to be tough."

However his closest rival, Kim, is unfazed being three shots behind and knows in golf anything can happen in the last round.

"Three shots in around can turn easy.  I mean, bogey and a birdie on the same hole, that’s two already," said Kim.

"Golf is one of those sports where you don’t really know how it’s going to end up."

Tomorrow, Kim is aiming to be the second Korean to win the ISPS HANDA Perth International after his friend Jin Jeong won the title last year.

"It’s quite funny how last year Jin didn’t have any status anywhere and ends up winning this tournament and he has status on the European Tour," added Kim who needs to finish outright second or win to retain his European Tour card.

"I’m going to have dinner with him tonight and I’m pretty sure he’s got something to say."

Outright third on the leaderboard at 12-under the card is Englishman James Morrison while a further shot back again is American Peter Uihlein.

Rounding out the top-5 and taking top Aussie honours is Richard Green who is tied at 10-under the card with David Drysdale of Scotland.
